Floyd Memorial Library

Local History Room

Introduction

The Floyd Memorial Library Local History Room has been an integral part of the library since its establishment with the donation of the current stone building by Grace Floyd in 1917.  It was stated in the agreement that the library must have a local history room to preserve the history of the area for years to come.  The department is dedicated to collecting, promoting, and preserving the local history in the Greenport region.

The collection consists of books, postcards, photographs, maps, audio visual material, pamphlets, scrapbooks, yearbooks, file folders of deeds and other Greenport-related documents.
