Sally Grant, our Art Exhibits Curator, and one of the organizers of @floydmemoriallibrary’s current exhibition, “Whitney M. Hubbard: 150 Years,” says of this work:
“It was extremely difficult to choose a favorite from among the many incredible works we have in this exhibition. But I love how this small painting is so *monumental* in color and form [swipe to see the work on the gallery wall.]
“The bright orange, green and blue brilliantly capture the afternoon sunlight. This falls on a recognizable scene of Greenport village life, which is at the same time, a striking play of bold patterns.”
Now extended, “Whitney M. Hubbard: 150 Years” is on view until Saturday, November 15.
