Celebrating Creativity and Community at the Riverhead Country Fair
October was full of fun and creativity at Floyd Memorial Library, as we hosted our Pumpkin Decorating Station in the Children’s Section. This festive activity brought in young artists eager to put their unique touches on pumpkins in preparation for the Riverhead Country Fair.
Decorating with Imagination
With glue, tissue paper, stickers, and pom-poms provided by the library, patrons of all ages let their imaginations run wild, transforming pumpkins into colorful works of art. Thanks to the generous donation from Krupski Farms, 20 pumpkins were available for decorating, making the event accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
A Community Effort
Children’s Librarian Nina Keller played a vital role, ensuring each decorated pumpkin was transported to the Riverhead Country Fair for judging and display. The beautifully adorned pumpkins brought smiles to fairgoers and showcased the creativity of our young community members.
A special thanks goes to Krupski Farms for their generous pumpkin donation and to our Head of Circulation, Brian, for coordinating this delightful contribution.
Until Next Year!
We are proud to have been part of such a wonderful event that celebrated local talent and community spirit. Keep an eye out for more fun and engaging activities at Floyd Memorial Library, where creativity always finds a home.
