Garden Construction Updates
About the Project
Thanks to a New York State Library Construction Grant, we’ve been able to add a beautiful new patio and walkways into the Floyd Memorial Library Garden. Our goal was to create a functional outdoor space that could be used for concerts, outdoor programs, or even a spot to work or relax if you’re out and about (our WiFi reaches the garden!). The new patio and pathways were built with accessibility in mind, allowing us to better welcome ALL patrons into our beautiful garden.
We thank you for your patience as we carried out this grant-funded library improvement project this summer! We look forward to hosting the community for an opening celebration…stay tuned for more details as the project nears completion.

Sobre el Proyecto
Gracias a una subvención para la construcción de la Biblioteca Estatal de Nueva York, hemos podido añadir un hermoso patio y senderos nuevos al Jardín de la Biblioteca Floyd Memorial. Nuestro objetivo era crear un espacio exterior funcional que pudiera utilizarse para conciertos, programas al aire libre o incluso como lugar para trabajar o relajarse si está fuera de casa
(¡nuestro wifi llega hasta el jardín!). El nuevo patio y los senderos se construyeron teniendo en cuenta la accesibilidad, lo que nos permite dar una mejor bienvenida a TODOS los usuarios a nuestro hermoso jardín.
Les agradecemos su paciencia durante este proyecto de mejora de la biblioteca, financiado con una subvención, este verano. Esperamos recibir a la comunidad en la inauguración… Estén atentos para más detalles a medida que el proyecto esté próximo a finalizar.

New accessible pathway created from the street to the old library entrance; masonry on old entrance steps repaired and railings repainted.

New shrubs form a backdrop to the new patio. A great new view for outdoor concerts!
